Two barcode cards side by side, labelled UPCs.com and GetUPCCode

GetUPCCode costs less than UPCs.com at most pack sizes, while UPCs.com offers more around the sale: a refund option, printed labels and a certificate of ownership. Both sell the same kind of code, from prefixes issued before 2002, so neither one puts your company’s name on the GS1 record.

We run GetUPCCode, so this page isn’t neutral. UPCs.com has no connection to us. Everything here about UPCs.com comes from its public pages and Trustpilot profile, checked on October 30, 2026, and linked so you can read them yourself. If something has changed or we got it wrong, email [email protected] and we’ll fix it.

Prices at every pack size

Codes GetUPCCode UPCs.com
1 $4.59 $10
5 $9.99 $20
10 $15 $30
25 $24.75 $50
50 $33.49 $70
100 $44 $90
500 $123 $250
1,000 $225 $350
10,000 $775 $1,800
100,000 $4,200 $4,000

UPCs.com shows a per-code price at 50 and 500, so we multiplied those out. Prices are before coupons. Our coupon SPECIAL takes 10% off orders of 25 codes or more.

We’re about half the price up to 500 codes, about two-thirds at 1,000, and well under half at 10,000. At 100,000 codes, UPCs.com is $200 cheaper, and it quotes orders of 200,000 and up. If you buy at that scale, get a quote from both of us.

Refunds: the biggest difference

This is where UPCs.com’s offer looks stronger than ours, so read this before you decide.

UPCs.com advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee. Its buy page says, “If your codes do not work, contact us within 30 days for a full refund.” Its terms add this: “We do offer refunds, however, there will be a 50% restocking fee for issues outside of our control.” The public pages don’t list which issues count as outside its control, so ask before you rely on the guarantee.

We don’t offer refunds. Once an order is placed, those codes are assigned to you and never sold again, so an order can’t be cancelled or returned. If a code is faulty, we replace it. Our policy leaves it to you to check each retailer’s rules before you buy.

If you want a way out in case the codes don’t suit your plans, UPCs.com gives you one and we don’t. Before you order from us, buy a small pack to test, or ask us first.

Amazon: same codes, different promises

Both of us sell codes that show the original licensee in a GS1 lookup. Amazon checks product IDs against GS1 data, so this affects both sellers in the same way.

UPCs.com’s Amazon page says “Accepted by Amazon” and “If Amazon ever rejects one, we replace it or refund you within 30 days.” Its terms are more careful: “our codes are issued under the original prefix owner’s name and may not be accepted for Brand Registry listings.”

We don’t promise Amazon will accept our codes, because neither of us can decide that. Some sellers list without trouble, others get blocked, and Amazon’s written position favors GS1. On Trustpilot, some of UPCs.com’s one-star reviews say codes were rejected on Amazon, and the company replied that listing problems often come from Amazon restrictions. You could see the same complaint about any reseller, us included, because the GS1 record is the likely cause.

If Amazon is your main channel and you own the brand, skip both of us and buy from GS1 US. A single GTIN costs $30 with no renewal. Our UPC codes for Amazon guide explains why.

Walmart: check before you buy from either of us

UPCs.com’s Walmart page says its codes “are used every day to create new Walmart listings.” That may be true, but Walmart’s own guide says it cross-checks product IDs with the GS1 database, recommends getting them directly from GS1, and warns that listings with invalid IDs “will be removed and may lead to suspension or termination of your Marketplace account.”

Our advice is the same for both sellers: for Walmart Marketplace, buy from GS1.

Track record

UPCs.com has the longer public record. It says it has been around since the late 1990s and has served more than 200,000 businesses, and it has 598 reviews on Trustpilot, 76% of them five-star and 20% one-star. We can’t verify its customer count, but that review history is real and far bigger than ours.

We have one review on Trustpilot, which is too few to mean anything. Our customers’ comments are on our reviews page, and you can email us with questions before you buy.

Which one should you pick?

Choose GetUPCCode if

  • You want the lower price at anything up to 10,000 codes.
  • You want UPC and EAN versions, an Excel file and a PDF invoice together.
  • You sell on eBay, Etsy, Shopify or your own site, or need codes for your own stock control.
  • You’re fine with no refunds once the order is placed.

Choose UPCs.com if

  • You want a refund option, and you’ve read its terms.
  • You need a certificate of ownership for your own records. It isn’t the GS1 certificate Amazon asks for.
  • You want printed labels from the same seller.
  • You need TIFF files, or you’re buying 100,000 codes or more.

Choose neither if

  • You sell on Walmart Marketplace.
  • Amazon is your main channel and you own the brand.
  • You’re pitching retail chains that want codes in your company’s name.

In those cases, go to GS1 US. The where to buy UPC codes guide covers the choice in more detail.

Frequently asked questions

Is UPCs.com legit?

Yes, it’s an established reseller, and it sells the same type of code we do: real numbers from prefixes issued before 2002, with no yearly fee. Like all resold codes, they aren’t registered to your company in GS1’s database, so they won’t suit every channel.

Are UPCs.com and GetUPCCode the same company?

No. They’re separate businesses with no connection to each other.

Which is cheaper, UPCs.com or GetUPCCode?

GetUPCCode, at every pack size we compared up to 10,000 codes. One code is $4.59 against $10, and 100 codes are $44 against $90. At 100,000 codes UPCs.com is cheaper, at $4,000 against $4,200.

Does either one register codes to my company?

No. Only GS1 can do that. A GS1 lookup of a code from either seller shows the company that first licensed the prefix.

Do UPCs.com or GetUPCCode codes work on Amazon?

Sometimes, with no promise from anyone who doesn’t work at Amazon. Codes from both sellers can be blocked because the GS1 record doesn’t match your brand. If Amazon is your main channel, buy from GS1 US.
