Privacy Policy.
Last updated: October 31, 2026
This policy explains what information GetUPCCode.com collects, why we collect it, who helps us handle it and the choices you have. It applies to this website and to orders placed on it. Our terms, conditions and policies cover your purchase. If you have a question about your information, email [email protected].
The short version
- We collect what we need to take your order, deliver your codes and answer your questions.
- Your card details go to PayPal or Razorpay. They don’t come to us.
- We keep a record of which codes were sold to you, so no number is sold twice.
- We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used.
- We don’t sell your personal information.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Order details. Your name, company name if you add one, billing address, phone number, email address and what you bought.
- Account details. Your email address and password, if you create an account. You can also check out as a guest.
- Messages. Whatever you send us through the contact form or by email, along with your name and email address.
Information created when you buy
- Payment confirmation. PayPal or Razorpay tells us whether a payment went through and gives us a transaction reference. We never see your full card number.
- Code records. We record which UPC codes were assigned to which order.
- Invoices. We create a PDF invoice for each order and attach it to your order emails.
Unfinished checkouts
If you start checkout and don’t finish, we may save the details you’ve typed, including your email address and what was in your cart. We may use them to send you a reminder about your order. To stop these reminders, use the unsubscribe link in the email, or write to us.
Information collected automatically
When you visit, our systems and analytics tools receive technical details such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view, the site that sent you here, and the date and time of your visit.
Our free tools, including the barcode generator and check digit calculator, run in your browser. We don’t need an account or any personal information for you to use them.
How we use your information
- To process your order, take payment and send your codes.
- To send order emails, invoices and support replies.
- To keep records for accounting, tax and fraud prevention.
- To make sure each UPC code is only sold once.
- To send offers, discounts, updates and promotions from GetUPCCode, if the law allows it. You can opt out at any time.
- To remind you about a checkout you didn’t finish.
- To keep the site secure, and to see which pages help people and which need work.
Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use them in two ways:
- Cookies the store needs. These keep items in your cart, keep you signed in and make checkout work. If you block them, you may not be able to place an order.
- Analytics cookies. We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to count visits and see how people use the site. Google processes this information under its own policies. You can use Google’s opt-out add-on to stop Google Analytics from collecting data about you.
You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings. We don’t currently respond to “Do Not Track” signals, because there’s no common standard for what they should do.
Who we share information with
We share information with companies that help us run the store, and only as far as they need it to do their job:
| Provider | What it does for us |
|---|---|
| PayPal | Takes payments |
| Razorpay | Takes payments |
| Brevo | Sends our emails, including order emails |
| Site analytics and tag management | |
| Cloudflare | Protects the site and speeds up delivery of pages |
| DigitalOcean | Hosts the website and its database |
PayPal and Razorpay handle your payment under their own privacy policies, so it’s worth reading those too.
We may also share information without your consent in these cases, and we won’t share more than the purpose needs:
- If the law, a court or a government agency requires it.
- If we reasonably believe it’s needed to protect the rights, privacy, property or safety of our users or others.
- If it relates to a breach of an agreement or a violation of the law.
- If it’s needed for fraud protection, reducing risk or collecting money owed to us.
- If the business is sold or merged, in which case your information may pass to the new owner, under this policy.
We don’t sell your personal information
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t rent out our customer list.
How long we keep information
- Orders and invoices. We keep these for as long as we need them for accounting, tax and legal reasons.
- Code records. We keep these for as long as we run the store, because they’re how we stop a number from being sold twice and how we support your codes in the future.
- Messages. We keep these for as long as they’re useful for supporting you.
- Unfinished checkouts. We keep these only for as long as they’re useful for reminders.
How we protect your information
The site uses HTTPS, so information is encrypted on its way between your browser and our server. Access to order information is limited to the people who need it. No system is completely secure, though, so we can’t promise that nothing will ever go wrong. Please choose a strong password if you create an account.
Your choices and rights
- Marketing emails. Click “Unsubscribe” in any marketing email, or email us. You’ll still receive emails about your orders.
- Your details. You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it or delete it.
- Your state’s law. Depending on where you live, privacy laws in states such as California may give you further rights. We won’t treat you differently for using them.
To make a request, email [email protected] from the address on your order. We may need to confirm it’s you first. Some records can’t be deleted, such as those we must keep for tax reasons, and the record of which codes we assigned.
Customers outside the United States
Our service is aimed at sellers in the United States, though customers in other countries buy from us too. Your information may be handled in the United States and in other countries where our providers operate, and those countries’ privacy laws may differ from yours.
Children
Our store is meant for businesses and adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you’re under 13, please don’t share personal information with us. If you think a child has given us information, write to us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or the law change. We’ll post the new version on this page and change the date at the top.
